Tipping Points
Uzziah’s Story
Prosperity- To have a good journey and get along well
2 Chronicles 26:5
Universal truth for all Christians

Verses 6-15 tell of the Lord’s help in Uzziah’s life:
- God helped Uzziah battle the Philistines.
- Uzziah’s fame spread because he had become powerful and great
- Built towers for the defense of Jerusalem and Judah
- Blessed with livestock and fields
- Had a huge army to protect Judah total of 310,100
- Supplied the army with equipment
- Had devices built to protect Jerusalem
Tipping point #1:
What is our response when God has given us success?
Human nature does not change. Those who are Christians need to be alert to this tipping point. God will give us success in life when we seek Him. At some point we need to be cognizant of the fact that we can begin to believe that the success we have enjoyed somehow came from our own wisdom – we forget God. We become prideful. It is a trap many find themselves in.

Jesus simply says it this way:
I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing. (John 15:5) NIV84

Spiritual pride
Uzziah’s pride manifested itself in performing a spiritual function that he was not allowed to do. Many times this is the case an individual thinks that because the Lord has blessed them or lifted them to a certain position that they somehow have the authority from God to do other things – even things that might be clearly spelled out in scripture not to do. But because of pride they think that part of scripture does not apply to them.

A right heart is critical. A right heart asks for forgiveness. Without it consequences will come and many times with lasting effects.

Antidote is humility. It is God who gives all and sustains all
Tipping point #2
God graciously sends warnings into our lives when we are not going down the right path
Our response is the tipping point
Warnings are a blessing from the Lord. They are a gift and demonstration of His divine love for us. He is not willing to let us go our own way without first reaching out to us and giving us opportunity to change our ways.
Tipping point #3
God disciplines those He loves

How do we respond to discipline?
Conclusion:
Tipping points are important to recognize and require a response. What would have happened to Uzziah had he heeded to tipping point #1 and repented of his pride? The story would have been completely different. The good thing about tipping points is that they are a testimony of faithfulness God has blessed His children with. Praise the Lord we live in the era we live in. Every person who has committed themselves to Jesus Christ has the Holy Spirit dwelling within them! An inner witness of truth providing divine direction in the way a Christian should step.
