Will I Give An Account Of My Life? (Revelation 20:11-15)

Phelps breaks olympic record
At this year's olympics, swimmer Michael Phelps broke a 2,168-year record held by Leonidas of Rhodes, who never was given gold but rather olive oil!

1. The Victor's Crown (for self-discipline), 1 Corinthians 9:25-27;
2. The Crown of Rejoicing (for those who led others to Christ),
1 Thessalonians 2:19;
3. The Crown of Life (for those who endured and triumphed over trials, temptations and adversity in this life), James 1:12 & Revelation 2:10;
4. The Crown of Glory (for the faithful shepherds and leaders of God's
people), 1 Peter 5:4;
5. The Crown of Righteousness (for those who had a longing for Jesus'
presence), 2 Timothy 4:8

In December 1943, 20-year-old private George G. Ritchie died of pneumonia. Nine minutes later, he returned to life. His experience changed his life forever, and his riveting story is detailed in two books: “Return from Tomorrow” and "My Life After Dying". Years after its first publication, "My Life After Dying" had its name permanently changed to "Ordered to Return."

Do my priorities and passions in life reveal an earthly perspective, or an eternal one? Click here to take one step closer to Christ today.
https://form.jotform.com/61595517299167For my personal time with God this week:
[#1] Read Matthew 16:26-27. How does the thought of a “life review” make you feel? Are you surprised that the life reviews of near-death experiencers are often described as a preview rather than a judgment? Which would you expect to experience if God’s love is truly unconditional?
[#2] Read Matthew 25:14-30. The Bible says that our deeds don’t save us, but they determine the extent of God’s rewards for us in heaven. Why do you think our deeds should matter? Should it be enough for us to just get into Heaven, or are we expected to do more? Do you anticipate receiving any rewards in heaven for what you have done with your life? Why?
[#3] Read Colossians 3:23-24. How can you approach your work in the days ahead – whether on the job or at home or elsewhere – with a fresh attitude of doing that work for God Himself, rather than for a boss, a family member or even yourself? If our life on Earth is truly about preparing us for eternal life, what do you think you’ll be doing to serve God in heaven?
[#4] How has your imagination of heaven changed as a result of this series? How has it changed your perspective on your life now?
