Baptism is just around the corner
Our final baptism celebration of the year is coming up on Sunday, September 25, and it’s going to be amazing as nearly 30 people take the plunge. Whatever you do, don’t miss this exciting celebration, which will begin with a potluck lunch at 1:30 p.m. and baptisms at 3 p.m. See the flyer for details and on what to bring
Pray for Pastor James
This week our youth pastor, James O, will begin a well-deserved three-month sabbatical. Please pray that Pastor James’ time away will be rejuvenating to his soul. During this time, all of our youth groups will continue to meet under the capable leadership of Pastor Dave Romero, Sally Hashimura, Todd Hoshiko, and others. If you have any needs, concerns, or questions in the next three months, please direct them to Sally at Sally@southbaycommunitychurch.com.
Solvang with Survivors
We invite you to join South Bay’s Survivors ministry (for those 50+) as they take a field trip to Solvang on Saturday, October 8. The cost is only $67, which includes roundtrip bus transportation in a deluxe motorcoach, lunch at Anderson’s Pea Soup Restaurant, and a guided walking tour through this quaint Danish town. The bus will depart from church at 8 a.m. and return at 6:30 p.m. In case you’re wondering, you don’t have to be 50+ to join the fun, so see the flyer and sign-up today in the lobby.
Heaven's Kitchen
Each month our Heaven’s Kitchen ministry reaches out to provide a warm meal to those in need. If you’d like to learn more about this ministry of compassion, see the flyer in your program and we’ll let you know how you can get involved.
Two Boys!!!
Congratulations to Justin and Thuy Thiang on the birth of their son, Levi Yong Jin on September 7, and to Alan and Alma Seshiki on the birth of their son, Koa Ashton on September 3. Baby Levi weighed 6 lbs. 11 ozs. at birth, and Baby Koa weighed 7 lbs. 1 oz. Both boys and their parents are doing well, but they would appreciate your prayers as they adjust to their new life together. Thank you God!
