If you are interested in heading this up or participating please sign up at the women’s table. WOMEN’S CONFERENCE It’s that time again! Time for our annual Women’s Conference held at the Hershey Lodge. It is scheduled for Nov, 11-12. Deposits are due Sun. Sept. 11, 2016 Please see the Women’s table to sign up and for more information. MEN’S MINISTRY Our annual Men’s Conference is being held on Fri. & Sat., Oct 14-15 in Lutherville, MD. This is a great time of fellowship and biblical encouragement. We invite all men to attend. We will travel to the conference each day instead of staying overnight. There is a sign up sheet in the lower foyer. Deadline for registration and payment ($50.00) is Sun. Sept 18. Go to: ww.2016bandofbrothers.com for more detailed information. BODY NEWS CHANGES IN WEDNESDAY NIGHT MEAL TIME In order to best protect our children and keep them safe, we are starting a pre-service class beginning this Wednesday Aug 24. Any child that attends for the dinner will eat first in the dining area. When they are finished, they must meet in this designated classroom. They will remain there until 6:25 when we will dismiss them to their classes. No children (elementary or youth age) will be allowed to exit the building or wander around. WEDNESDAY NIGHT MEAL MENU Sept 7 - Sloppy Joes Sept 14 - Mac & Cheese, chicken nuggets Sept 21 - Pancakes, Sausage, fried apples Sept 28 - Taco Salad Oct 5 - Spaghetti SPECIAL THANKS! If you have any questions, feel free to stop by the sound booth .—Brad MISSIONS OPPORTUNITY Our church has an opportunity to be involved in a missionary ministry out reach. Dustin Wible will be going to Africa in September and is collecting toothbrushes, gently used soccer balls, Christian material and books for Kenya Connect. Kenya Connect is a non-profit working in rural Kenya to strengthen education with 55 partner schools. Toothbrushes will be given to the children at schools and soccer balls are greatly appreciated (most schools use bunched up plastic bags for balls). Kenya Connect has a small library and gently used books—especially information books like DK Books, National Geographic series, early readers, and picture books will be brought over. To learn more about the work of Kenya Connect visit www.kenyaconnect.org or ask Dustin. There are bins in the lower foyer for collections. All donations are appreciated. If we allow our unbelieving friends and family and the outside world to slowly enter in and affect the choices we make, it won’t be long until all of what we believe and promised to do will have been replaced with the enemy’s thoughts and wants.

One commentary calls Nehemiah “a man of a volcanic temperament who expressed his indignation by taking quick action.”

Whether in our personal lives or in our church life, when we see the fire of God being put out by compromise we need to take immediate action.

Nehemiah 13:9

When compromise comes in we begin to find reasons not to do things God has told us to do.

We find excuses not to read, pray or attend church. We find reasons not to be involved in the ministries that we know we were called to do. We quit giving to God’s work...

Nehemiah 13:11-13

It is never too late to get another chance to start again. If you know that you have allowed compromise in and you feel the fire you had at one time for God is almost gone, its’ time to stoke those coals and let God get that blaze going again!
