God Is Stirring The Waters! In John chapter 5 has the story of Jesus going up to Jerusalem to celebrate one of the feasts. As Jesus was entering the city there was a sheep gate that had two pools side by side. Around these pools were porches where the lame, the sick and those who had incurable diseases and physical conditions. Every once in a while an angel would stir the water and if you could make your way into the pool first before anyone else, you would be healed. That’s one crowd of people that the Lord is showing us today.

But there’s also another crowd that the Lord wants us to be aware of. It’s us! Q: What do you see when you look around you? What we should see is a room full of people that have real need in their lives. Every one of us here in this room has some area in their life that we need Jesus to heal and touch!
The good news is that God Is Stirring The Waters!

It’s not only good news knowing that God is up to something good for us but we also know that the Lord has clearly told us that there others that will be joining us. (2nd Kings 20:5)(Ephesians 3:20-21) God wants to do an exceeding, abundant, above all you can imagine miracle in your life! THERE IS NOTHING IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD and God has something better for you!

God Is Stirring The Water…

1. Do You Want Things To Be Different?
As was Jesus walking by the pools, He notices a man who had been unable to walk for 38 years and has pity on him. (Vs. 6) Jesus asks the man, “Do you want to be made well?” There could be a chance that this man doesn’t want to be changed at all. Many people go through life and while we would be convinced that must have reached their bottom and are ready for something different, that’s not always true. The truth is that no matter how scary or uncomfortable change seems to us, yes even godly change, we have to learn to say YES to God so that He can do in us the perfecting work that matures us into ALL that He called us to be for His glory!

When we resist the work of the Lord, when we grieve the Spirit as He’s falling fresh and stirring the waters we’re no better than a crippled man lying on a mat living off of handouts! God’s got more for us then just coming into the place and enjoying His sweet Spirit while we sit tight on our favorite spot!!! The GLORY and the PRESENCE of the Lord is all over this place, it’s all over your life, but you have to want things to be different!

Around here at Grace we have an answer for the Lord when He speaks to us. Our answer is Yes…
God Is Stirring The Water! Right now! God is here to do something in your heart, in your life, right now! Jesus is asking you, “Do you want things to be different?” Our answer should be, “Yes Lord! I’m ready to get into the water with You!” (Romans 13:11-14)
