How To Demon Proof Your House
Part 2 - "There's An Enemy in the House". This sermon is designed to enlighten the listener of the reality of spiritual warfare and encourage the believer to take authority over evil spirits. We believe that all of the ills of our society could be rectified if individuals would recognize AND rebuke the works of the devil. By refusing to give the devil space he will never be able to take God's place!

The Devil Wants Space in God's House.
1 Corinthians 6:19 clearly teaches that our “bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit”. So when I say that the devil wants space in God’s house I’m not talking about a building but rather OUR LVIES!
If the devil is given SPACE he’ll try to take God’s Place.
(This is why Tobiah wanted space in the temple. Since he could not stop them from building he hindered their worship by taking up space where the things of God were supposed to be stored. Neh. 13)
Don’t allow this to intimidate or cause you to fear. If the devil is after your house it means ….. There’s value in your house!

But How do you KNOW if there is an enemy in your house?
When there is no ROOM for God. If prayer time is a chore, if coming to church doesn’t happen anymore, if worry has replaced worship, if Bible reading is replaced by Facebook scrolling, if family fights are replacing FAITH then it is a CLEAR SIGN that the devil has found his way into your house!
You see church ...YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A BAD PERSON TO HAVE AN ENEMY IN YOUR HOUSE.
Unconfessed sin, Un-forgiveness, Anger, Generational Curses, and Bad relationships
But DELIVERANCE IS POSSIBLE! You CAN Demon Proof Your House

When there is no ROOM for God. If prayer time is a chore, if coming to church doesn’t happen anymore, if worry has replaced worship, if Bible reading is replaced by Facebook scrolling, if family fights are replacing FAITH then it is a CLEAR SIGN that the devil has found his way into your house!
You see church ...YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A BAD PERSON TO HAVE AN ENEMY IN YOUR HOUSE.

I don’t care HOW the enemy came in TODAY we are kicking him out!
In order to DEMON PROOF YOUR HOUSE we must first ...
1.) THROW THE DEVIL OUT!!
In Luke’s (and Matthew’s) account Jesus cast out a demon of dumbness - Jesus can get rid of your demon problem.
As a matter of fact He does THROUGH us not FOR us. Cf. Mark 16:17 ‘These signs shall follow them that believe … cast out” - to throw
Cast a demon out = means to KICK HIM OUT, THROW HIM OUT!!
When someone is evicted out of their home or apartment the sheriff comes and throws all their stuff out on the street. As cruel as it may seem it is a sign to the person that “you are no longer welcome in this place. The locks have been changed and I am kicking you out.” This is how diligently we must be with the devil. DON’T NEGOTIATE WITH HIM! DON’T COMPROMISE AND GIVEN HIM A WARNING. KICK HIM OUT!!!!!
Take the kingdom cops with you and arrest EVERY THOUGHT that does not line up with God's word! AND DEMOLISH the stronghold of the devil!

2. CLEANSE THE HOUSE
Nehemiah ordered the workers to cleanse the room before they put the things of God back in. And here in our text Jesus says that when we demon has been cast out he comes backhand finds the house (the mind, the heart) “swept clean”.
How do we cleanse the house?? With the Purity of Jesus. The purity of Christ’s character is released in us through the Fruit of The Spirit.
Read Galatians 5:19-23
The 9 fruit of the Spirit represent the very nature and character of Jesus Christ. The works of the flesh and the enemy is EXACTLY opposite to the character of Christ!

Cleansing Comes from Staying Close to Christ!

3. FILL THE HOUSE
When Nehemiah kicked the enemy out, he cleansed the room AND he replaced and filled the room with THE THINGS OF GOD!!!!
This was the problem in the parable that Jesus tells. A demon was cast out but nothing was put back in. And as a result the demon was able to return to the house WITH 7 other spirits stronger than he. The last state of the man was WORSE THAN THE FIRST!
What sad sight - to have someone delivered from drugs only to find out years later that they died of an overdoes. What happened? Did the deliverance not work? Did the Lord fail them? No! They WERE delivered but they were not FILLED!
The REASON for getting rid of demons is to make room for JESUS! Not just to get rid of the problem!! (We must cast out worry because we want more room for worship. We must cast out FEAR because we want more room for faith. We must cast out lust because we want to experience real love. MAKE ROOM FOR JESUS!!!!
After deliverance the house should be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. Power of the Holy Spirit is released in our lives by the GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT.
