My Worship can change the world.

Have you noticed when the storms of life come, and they always do, some people stand firm while others are blown off course. For example, everything is going fine, home, work, or school, and then the phone rings and the news you receive completely blows you off course. How do we handle bad news? Some it seems are completely shattered and others stand strong. This is what I want to talk to you about today. Standing firm has nothing to do with the size of the storm. The people who stand firm are people of worship. They are full of God’s strength, full of God’s power. It’s not that the storms don’t bother them, they do. They are equipped to stand firm. It’s all about worship. How we handle the storms of life has an effect on other’s faith.

2. Daily time with God

Why have a daily time with God?

· We need fellowship with God
· It is our privilege
· Gain tremendous benefit

Our foundation becomes stronger when we study the scripture:

· Joy
· Peace
· Stability

Meet together to encourage one another.

Only once in almost 30 years of preaching have I ever had anyone say they wish they would not have come to church that day. Lady at the back door.

Most will say, “I started to stay home but I’m glad I came.”

3. Prayer

Talk to God

These are Jesus’ words before he prayed the Lord’s Prayer:

Jesus doesn’t point out:

· Posture – kneeling, sitting, etc.
· Place – any where
· Manner – no certain tone of voice or facial expressions
· Time – any time

When you give, you get God’s blessing:

· It may be tangible
· It may be intangible

Paul and Silas were placed in jail when they began to share scripture and sing. The jail cells were opened up and they came out praising God. The jailer was ready to take his own life when they stopped him.
