Welcome! We are glad that you are here. NLCC is a place where everyone is Welcomed, Needed and Changed. We pray that this Sat@6pm service is a blessing to you. ANNOUNCEMENTS
New Series Kicking off this Sat@6pm: SUMMER AT THE MOVIES!
This month we are looking at modern day parables - Movies... and pulling out spiritual truths that we can learn from. Each week we will highlight a different favorite movie that you have shared for our series. It's going to be a great series that very possibly could end up being an annual favorite message series. Get ready for some fun as we begin for the month of August -- Summer at the Movies!
Last week we powerfully learned that God wants us to live a Generous Life as it pertains to our TIME, TREASURE & TALENTS. We must use these 3T's if we want to have a spiritual pulse for God. Everyone has at least one thing that they are good at!:-) That one thing, is a blessing God has given you and should be shared with others. As Pastor Mike shared with us, "Take that one thing you're good at and figure out how to use it in the church." To help with this, we ask that you fill out the GIFT & INVENTORY assessment. It only takes a few minutes. Here's the link:

THIS SUNDAY: Our men's ministry-BOB meets tomorrow at 9pm. Please meet at the church office for doughnuts and coffee and prayer. From there bring your chainsaw's as we have some work to do at the church property. If you have questions, please connect with Doug at 616.970.1165.
THIS WEDNESDAY:Pontoon Boat Ride& Lake Day!
If your idea of a fast boat ride is a pontoon boat, then this day is for YOU! August 10th at Gun Lake at 1pm. Food, fun & fellowship on the Lake can’t be beat. Contact Mark or Sandi Rookus 269-509-1222.

We are looking at the possibility of creating a group for "crafty," people who would like to share their gifts. If you are interested, please see Lori Baar after the service on Sat., August 20th in the Lobby. Also, remember, we are always looking to take your gently used T-shirts in all sizes. Bring them to a Sat@6pm service or drop them off at the church office marked for Lori Baar. If you have questions, please email Lori at baar01@charter.net.
ISO - NLCC is in search of a vacuum that you might not be using. The church vacuum retired this past week and hope to get it replaced soon!:-) If you can help, please contact Doug at 616.970.1165.

Then Jonah prayed to the LORD his God from inside the fish. He said, “I cried out to the LORD in my great trouble, and he answered me. I called to you from the world of the dead, and LORD, you heard me! You threw me into the ocean depths, and I sank down to the heart of the sea. I was buried beneath your wild and stormy waves. Then I said, ‘O LORD, you have driven me from your presence. How will I ever again see your holy Temple?’ “I sank beneath the waves, and death was very near. The waters closed in around me, and seaweed wrapped itself around my head. I sank down to the very roots of the mountains. I was locked out of life and imprisoned in the land of the dead. But you, O LORD my God, have snatched me from the yawning jaws of death! “When I had lost all hope, I turned my thoughts once more to the LORD. And my earnest prayer went out to you in your holy Temple. Those who worship false gods turn their backs on all God’s mercies. But I will offer sacrifices to you with songs of praise, and I will fulfill all my vows. For my salvation comes from the LORD alone. “ The the LORD ordered the fish to spit up Jonah on the beach, and it did. Jonah 2:1-10

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. Acts 2:40-42
*It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone. Ephesians 1:11-12 (Msg)
