God created us with a need for connection: Genesis 2, 18 The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him. 'Connect' is defined on the internet as: “Something that joins or connects two or more things. The act of connecting two or more things or the state of being connected. A situation in which two or more things have the same cause, origin, goal, etc.”

Real connection happens in an environment involving other people when I:

JUST CAUSE...
Larry Crab in his book “Men and Women": “The greatest obstacle to building truly good relationships is justified self-centeredness. A selfishness that deep within our souls feels entirely reasonable and therefore acceptable in light of how we’ve been treated.”

HUMILITY: valuing others above self. Before Jesus there was no terminology or concept to express the attitude of placing others before self. It became necessary to add terminology because Jesus was born.
Jesus is our incredible illustration. Again--Paul writes how to follow Jesus as believers---Philippians 2:5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to His own advantage; 7 rather, He made Himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!”
