1) Is it easy or hard for you to allow others to help you?
2) Share about a time when somebody went above and beyond to help you at a crucial time in your life.
GOING DEEPER
3) Read Mark 10:35-45. Can you identify with the disciples in this passage? If so, how?
4) In verses 38-39, what is the “cup” Jesus is referencing? What is the “baptism”?
5) In verse 42, Jesus speaks about how people in the world often use authority to “lord it over” others. In verse 43, Jesus says that his disciples are to do the opposite; we are to, in fact, serve others. Have you had a leader or boss, who’s operated like verse 42? How about a leader/boss who’s operated like verse 43? What did you observe about how people responded to those leaders/bosses?
6) Read Romans 12:1. How does this verse correspond with Mark 10:35-45? What does it mean to be a “living sacrifice”?
7) Read Philippians 2:5-11. What does it mean to have “the mindset of Christ Jesus”? What would that look like in your life?
APPLYING
8) During this COVID-19 pandemic, how can you be a servant/slave to all?
9) Pray for the Holy Spirit to shape you more and more into a servant who serves like Jesus.
