RECAP: On Sunday we continued looking at 1 Corinthians 15:55-58 and discovering what it means to live in light of the resurrection that we just celebrated on Easter Sunday. We focused in on 1 Corinthians 15:58 where it tells us that we can have hope and confidence because of what Jesus has done for us, because of the victory we have in him and because of that we should not be moved, we should stand firm and live out our purpose – both our unique purpose and our general purpose as a follower of Jesus. God has good plans for you – for your future and they are full of hope. He wants to do something good in and through you, even in the middle of a pandemic.

QUESTIONS:
(1) Where do you struggle to have hope or confidence in your life? Why?
(2)Read 1 Corinthians 15:58. We are to have hope and confidence, not because of our circumstances but because of Christ. How should that change how we move forward in a pandemic?
(3)When was a time that you stood firm, that you let nothing move you? What caused you to respond that way?
(4)Read Psalm 62:5-6. When we lack confidence, when we want to waiver, what does this verse tell us is the reason that we can stand firm? How do you think you can live this out in real time?
(5)Because of the resurrection, because God is our rock and fortress, 1 Corinthians 15:58 says we need to give ourselves fully to His work. We can live with hope and confidence, living out His purposes for us. What do you think holds you back from living out His purposes for you?
(6)Read Jeremiah 29:11. What does it say about the kinds of plans God has for you? Do you believe that? So, how might God even be using these challenging circumstances that we’ve been for your good and your future?
(7)What’s one step you can take this week to discover your unique purpose? What’s one step you can take this week to make a difference, living out God’s general purpose for you to spread kindness and share hope with others?

PRAYER – Heavenly Father, help me to live this week with hope and confidence because of the resurrection, because of the victory we have as a follower of you. Help me to discover my unique purpose and to live that out – how you’ve wired me, the passions you’ve given me, the abilities you’ve given me and help me to live out your general purpose for me as your follower – help me to spread kindness and share hope this week. Stir my spirit to show me opportunities and then give me courage to take those opportunities to share your love with others this week. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
