RECAP: We’re following up Easter this year by unfolding the Resurrection Process from the Book of 1 Corinthians 15. The first part of that process is to remember that God has a plan to rescue us, to set us free and to give us hope. Because Jesus rose from the grave, we can experience resurrection as well. That’s the hope of Easter. Sin and death have not won. A virus has not won. Jesus has won and we are victorious through him. Because Jesus conquered death, we also have hope of new life as well. You are a resurrection waiting to happen. We have overcome this world! We have victory. No matter what a virus does to your health or you job or whatever else, those born of God are victorious. So how do we live as Easter people in a coronavirus world?
QUESTIONS:
(1)What do you find yourself missing most right now? Is it sports? Time with family and friends? Something else?
(2)How is your heart? What messages are you telling yourself? What’s driving your decision making? Are you living out “faith over fear”? Or are you getting overwhelmed?
(3)Read 1 John 5:4-5 What does this tell you about our current reality and how we ought to live?
(4)What does it look like for you to keep fighting for victory?
(5)Read Deuteronomy 20:4 What does this say about your circumstances? How does it encourage you?
(6)Read 1 Corinthians 15:55-57 What is the great promise that we have from these verses? What does it mean to you to live out the hope of Easter in a broken world?

PRAYER: God, help me to live according to the promised hope we have. That sin and death and disease don’t get the final answer, but you have promised us new life and resurrection. Thank you that we can live as victors because of you. Thank you for helping us overcome this world. And please give us the strength and endurance to live out the hope we have in you even in this anxious and frightening times.
