This is my Bible, it is God speaking to me. I am who He says I am, I do what He says I can do, I have what He says I can have. I choose to open my heart, to receive a word from God, that changes my life forever.
We save what we give, and lose what we keep.
For once.
And for all.
Study Guide
On Sunday we talked about what it means to sign over our lives fully to God. We talked the idea that handing our lives over to God starts in a moment, but takes a lifetime of remembering to leave it in His hands.
So, what has that been like for you? How did you first come to hand your life over to God? What convinced you to do so? What inspired you to take that step?
Re-read Mark 8:31-35. Again, Peter was struggling because he was trying to apply his old way of thinking and living to his new life with Jesus. He had just confessed that Jesus was God, and then fell right back into the old patterns of living.
As you look at your life, what have been some of the old patterns and ways of thinking you have found hard to leave behind? What are some areas of your life that you find especially difficult to leave in God’s hands? What has helped you leave it with Him?
Pray for each other that God would help you choose to trust Him in every moment of every day.
