Children Of God
Welcome and Invitations
*Call to Worship
Leader:Loving God, we come to worship you today.
People:We come to sing, pray, and listen.
Leader:God knows us.
People:We come to know God more.
Leader:God hears us.
People:We come to hear from God.
Leader:God strengthens us.
People:We come to praise our mighty God.
Leader:God loves us.
People:We come to remember the love of God and show God our love. Amen.
*Psalms, Hymns and Spiritual Songs
Wherever I Go
Always Be There
Prayer of Confession
Leader: Psalm 139:1 says, “You have searched me, Lord, and you know me.” God knows our hearts, both the good and the ugly. Let us confess our sins to God.
People: Lord, you are a God who keeps promises. In our prayers and songs we say that we want to follow you, but our actions do not match up with our words. We say mean things to other people, we hurt their feelings,
we think of ourselves first, and, worst of all, we ignore you. Lord, forgive us and hear our prayer for Jesus’ sake. Amen.
Assurance of Forgiveness
Leader: “This is how God shows his love among us: He sent his one and only son into the world, that we might live through him.” Hear the good news: through God’s son, Jesus Christ, we are forgiven and receive new life.
People: Thanks be to God! Amen.

Key Sermon Thoughts
We have been exploring that God is with us wherever we go. God, however, is not intrusive, but invitational. We will simply go through the scripture and explore different words and phrases:
Come
…to me
Weary and Burdened
Take my yoke
Learn from me
Rest for your souls
My yoke is easy, my burden is light
How do you respond to such an invitation?

Do you have a question from the sermon?
Sometimes the sermon can spark a question or two in your mind. It's generally considered poor form to interrupt the preacher to ask your question. We have a better way, click this link and you will be taken to a form where you can ask your questions anonymously. Answers will be posted on The City
