One of God’s priorities for His Church is Christ-centered teaching.
Matthew 7:26-27 NIV
Christ-centered teaching must be applied; for when it’s not, it leads to pride.
2 ways Christ-centered can be applied:
1. Personally (it changes you)
2. By sharing it with someone else
Acts 2:14-41 NIV
The CHURCH as God intended multiplies through Christ-centered teaching.
5 Elements of good Christ-centered teaching:
1.It starts WHERE THEY ARE. (Acts 2:14-16)
2. It’s rooted in BIBLICAL HISTORY. (Acts 2:16-21)
3. It directs people’s attention TO JESUS’ PROVISION. (Acts 2:22-35)
4.It connects Jesus’ provision TO THE NEED OF YOUR AUDIENCE. (Acts 2:23.36)
5. It encourages RESPONSE. (Acts 2:38-41)
Christ-centered teaching has 2 goals, depending on the audience:
1. Lead people to Jesus.
2. Help people fully follow Jesus together.
