“disciple” (noun): is someone who adheres to the teachings of another. It is a follower or a learner. It refers to someone who takes up the ways of someone else.
Applied to Jesus, a disciple is someone who learns from him to live like him — someone who, because of God’s awakening grace, conforms his or her words and ways to the words and ways of Jesus.

Then Jesus said to Simon, “Don’t be afraid; from now on you will fish for people.” So, they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him. Luke 5:10b-11 (NIV)

Our aim is simply to tell God: Here’s my life. I want to be a part of the spread of the gospel to the ends of the earth however You want to use me, wherever You want me to go and whatever You want me to do. I want to be a part of making disciples in every nation. | @PainesvilleAG #OhioForJesus

Disciple-making: Christ-commanded, Spirit-empowered duty of every disciple of Jesus to evangelize unbelievers, baptize believers, teach them the Word of Christ, train them to obey Christ as members of His church and make disciples on mission to all nations. Share the Word, Show the Word, Teach the Word and Serve the World.

The Bible teaches that baptism is the first step of obedience after making a commitment to Jesus. Baptism allows a believer to communicate to the world their new commitment to Christ. At Painesville Assembly, we encourage believers to be baptized in water. We do this because: Jesus, as the Son of God, set a great example for us to follow when he was personally baptized (Matthew 3.16), Jesus commanded us to be baptized (Matthew 28.19), Water baptism symbolizes the brand new life that Jesus gives (Romans 6.4).
