Last Week's Take Aways:
TAKE AWAY: Knowing what we believe and why we believe it is a strong shield against the enemy. Our faith can continue to grow and thus our shield is able to deflect the fiery weapons of the enemy.
TAKE AWAY: The Helmet of Salvation should remind us to keep our thoughts on the things of God. Especially keep our thoughts on the return of Jesus which is our blessed hope somewhere in the future. In so doing, we’ll be more fit to battle the enemy who seeks to distort our thoughts and fill them with things far from the Kingdom of God.

A. Sword of the Spirit
TAKE AWAY: Knowing the Word of God not only helps us to live a holy life, but it is an important part of spiritual warfare and our greatest weapon in battle.
B. Pray in the Spirit
TAKE AWAY: Being people of God’s Word and people of prayer makes us a threat to the enemy. These two things propel us into battle so that we can be on the offensive against the enemy’s tactics. We don’t have to fight alone, but can fight with other believers in community.
Pastor Tony Evans shares this thought on The Full Armor of God:
“So, if you want to be victorious over your struggles in the physical world, you have to learn to fight against these spiritual invisible forces coming against you, and that is why it is absolutely critical that you know, understand and utilize the armor of God, so that you do not fight in defeat but in expectation of victory.”
