Big Idea: The Gospel is “Good News” because it challenges us to live out our faith – one decision at a time

Salvation culture distorts the Gospel and deadens our hunger for discipleship.

Gospel culture allows for those that have made a personal commitment of faith to become disciples of Jesus.

At its worst, salvation culture promotes a Gospel of “sin management”.

If the Gospel is not about transformation, it is not the Gospel of the Bible.

Why is the “Gospel Good News”?

1. Jesus died with us.
2. Jesus died instead of us.
3. Jesus died for us.
4. Jesus rose from the dead.

The Gospel of Jesus demands more from us than a single decision to have our sins wiped away so we can get into Heaven – we are to become living examples of the love of Christ.
