APPLICATION QUESTIONS:
1. It is difficult to estimate exactly how many people groups are in the world today but our best guess, calculated by Joshua Project (an organization aimed at coordinating the effort of missions worldwide), is 16,543 people groups. Out of these, there are 6,701 unreached – that is 42.1% of the world’s people groups that have never heard or accepted the Good News of Jesus Christ! What does this imply as to the importance of missions and evangelism? Currently, what is your role in this cause, and how do you see our church’s current participation in this missionary mandate? How might it be improved, along with your own support of missions?

2. Again we see in this text the importance of being a “witness with us to His resurrection” (Acts 1:22b). Our witness today stems from the Word of God and the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives, and our surrender and service unto a Living Savior. How is your “witness” portrayed in daily life? How might it be improved? What shortcomings are present in your current witness?
3. Jesus established the pattern of prayer with His disciples. Luke includes several examples in his gospel. Review these texts: Luke 3:21, 5:16, 6:12, 9:18, 28-29, 11:1, 22:32, 41 and discuss the principles they reveal about a prayer life and its significance in our own lives. How might your own prayer life be improved by these principles? How about our church’s prayer life?
4. What does Scripture inform us about our responsibility in decisions? Is Judas a mere pawn of Satan or is one responsible for his/her own actions? Read the following texts as you discuss this question: Deuteronomy 24:16; Job 19:4; Jeremiah 17:9-10; Matthew 23:37-38; Luke 12:48; John 3:18; Romans 1:20; Galatians 6:7; Ephesians 5:6.
5. What principles are set forth in this text regarding decision making? How do they compare to how you or your family makes decisions?
6. How do you see God at work in this passage? (Acts 1:12-26) Identify one significant point for your own life and how it will impact your ongoing walk of faith.
