George Washington was a big Giant killer

1. GIANT KILLERS DON’T LISTEN TO DOUBTING CRITICS

A. David faced a lot of criticism for his attitude & actions

B. David had to do 3 things to get past the critics
---1. He had to get past the Eliabs – They are over us emotionally

---2. He had to get past the Sauls – They are over us positionally

---3. He had to get past the Goliaths – They are over us ability-wise
1 Sam. 17:41-44 NIV

2. GIANT KILLERS ARE NOT OVERWHELMED BY THE CHALLENGE

A. We become overwhelmed when…
---1. our giants challenge us
---2. our giants have a reputation
---3. our giants continually show up
---4. our giants keep defeating us psychologically

B. Why wasn’t David overwhelmed?
---1. He had a passion for God to be honored
---2. He had a desire for a greater reward
---3. He had confidence in God & himself.

Conclusion:

These are the 2 biggest issues I face in killing the giants in my life. Am I going to give in to the criticisms and the challenges? I must renew my passion for God and desire His reward in my life. He is with me and I am not alone!
