ONE OF THE REASONS WE GET CONFUSED IS BECAUSE
•We are engaged in Spiritual Warfare.
•The main goal of confusion is to darken our thinking and understanding so that we will not walk in faith.

2 CORINTHIANS 11:14
Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light - TO CONFUSE AND DECEIVE US.
Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but TEST THE SPIRITS to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 1 JOHN 4:1

HOW DO WE OVERCOME CONFUSION
1. TRUST IN THE LORD AND DO NOT LEAN ON YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING
PROVERBS 3:5-6
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight

JAMES 1:5-8
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.

2. KNOW HIS WORD AND SIMPLY OBEY
PSALM 119:165, 105
Abundant peace belongs to those who love Your instruction; nothing can make them stumble.
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

3. BE FULL OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
1 CORINTHIANS 2: 14 -16
The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.
15 The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments, 16 for, “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?”But we have the mind of Christ.

Confusion and impotence are the inevitable results when the wisdom and resources of the world are substituted for the presence and power of the Spirit.

ISAIAH 30:21(ESV)
And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.

4. REPENT OF SIN | DOUBT | FAITHLESSNESS
PSALM 32: 1-5, 8-9
1 Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. 2 Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord does not count against them and in whose spirit is no deceit.
3 When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.4 For day and night your hand was heavy on me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer.
5 Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.” And you forgave the guilt of my sin.
8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.
9 Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you.

MARK 9:22-24
It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us & help us.
23 “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”
24 Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”

5. SEEK | PURSUE THE PEACE OF GOD
ISAIAH 26:3
You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.

IF IN DOUBT, DON’T.
IF STILL IN DOUBT, DO WHAT'S RIGHT.

6. HIDE IN THE SAFETY OF GOD’S COMMUNITY
When you are confused and not able to find peace and clarity, seek the safety and protection of being in God’s community, especially in a vulnerable time, like when you are confused.

PROVERBS 11:14, 13:20
ECCLESIASTES 4:9-12
Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!
