The Mystery Of Authority
Genesis 1:26-28
26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth."
We have authority over the devil.
Luke 9:1 Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. 2 He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.
Walking in spiritual authority is the key to living a victorious Christian life.
Mathew 16:19
"And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."
Authority is the key to living out Christianity.
When we understand spiritual authority, we will have the power to create our Destiny.
Genesis 1:1-2
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
Without form means confusion.
The world was in chaos.
1. Chaos is the default position of the earth.
The only thing that has to happen for chaos to exist is nothing.
Chaos is the default position of the earth.
When God created the heavens and the earth chaos was ruling the earth.
2. Everything in the universe bends towards chaos.
Everything left to itself moves towards chaos.
Everything in the material world is passing away.
3. Chaos is the absence of order.
When God comes to the earth He finds it without form and void and darkness is covering the earth.
We were not created to live in chaos.
If you want to understand the mystery of authority you have to understand the need to separate from the chaos.
4. Chaos cries for order.
We all need order.
When God stepped into the chaos He started giving orders.
Genesis 1:3-19
3 Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.
5 God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day. 6 Then God said, "Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters." 7 Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. 8 And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day. 9 Then God said, "Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear"; and it was so. 10 And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw that it was good. 11 Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth"; and it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 13 So the evening and the morning were the third day. 14 Then God said, "Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; 15 "and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth"; and it was so. 16 Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. 17 God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 So the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
Order proceeds authority.
Without order there will be no authority.
This world is filled with people who have no order.
5. It is impossible for order to occur randomly.
When something is ordered it belongs to a system.
6. The presence of order tells us that force has been exercised over chaos.
Order doesn’t appear randomly.
When we see order we know that authority has been exercised over chaos to move it towards order.
If you want to live in spiritual authority you have to bring order to your life.
We need order.
Authority is not random.
28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.
Keys to spiritually authority
1. Be fruitful.
Galatians 5:22-23
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
2. Multiply
God has given us the ability to multiply.
You have the power to multiply whatever you have.
3. Fill the earth (Replenish)
To replenish is to add a new source to the thing.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
That means whatever is going to govern your life is a new thing not the old thing.
Isaiah 43:19
Behold, I will do a new thing,
Now it shall spring forth;Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness
And rivers in the desert.
4. Subdue
To subdue means to struggle with.
To bring what’s in the garden to the earth.
God created us to live with order and to have dominion.
When we take our fruitfulness and begin to multiply it, replenish and subdue the earth.
We live with spiritual authority that will cause darkness to leave.
I’m going to use my authority to take the territory that belongs to the kingdom.
I’m not gonna let things just happen.
I’m gonna bring order to my life.
Genesis 1:26-28
