Sin & Salvation: Justification to Glorification

Sin & Salvation: Justification to Glorification

This week we conclude our Sin & Salvation series with a look at the third aspect of Salvation, which is Glorification: Being saved from the presence of sin. Glorification is a future event where we no longer live with the presence or sin, or have a sin nature, and are able to stand face to face with God. We will also wrap up the series with a look at how the three aspects of Salvation work together and that while the works we do cannot save us, they are still important in determining our place in eternity with Christ.

Three Reasons to Work Out our Salvation

1. Better _____________
2 Thessalonians 2:13

Hebrews 9:14
How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God! (NIV)
2. Sanctification = Spiritual _______________
Maturity: Which dinner would a 6 year old choose?
Same choice to a 40 year old, which will they choose?
Galatians 5 :19-21
The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. (NIV)
Galatians 5:22-25
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. (NKJ)

3. Eternal ________________
Sanctification leading to Glorification
Galatians 5 :19-21
The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. (NIV)

1 Corinthians 3:12-15
Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one's work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is.

If anyone's work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward.
If anyone's work is burned, he will suffer loss; yet so as through fire. (NKJ)
Glorification:
hey

Funny, but so many things wrong with this view of heaven and hell.

Philippians 3:20
For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself. (NKJ)
Revelation 21:2-4
Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. "And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." (NKJ)
