David Was Chosen

· 1 Samuel 18:5 - So David went out wherever Saul sent him, and prospered

· 1 Samuel 18:12 - Now Saul was afraid of David, for the Lord was with him but had departed from Saul

· 1 Samuel 18:14 - David was prospering in all his ways for the Lord was with him

· God works through ordinary people in order to accomplish his purposes

David Understood His Position

· He understood his position before being chased

· He understood his position when the chase ended
