Miracle on the Hudson
The Hudson that separates Manhattan and New Jersey is a river of history and heritage. The power of one man making a difference is encased in this river.
The Miracle on the Hudson
If you remember the story of Captain Chesley B. Sullenberger III. (a.k.a. Sully) was the pilot of US Airways flight 1549. Not long after take-off birds flew into the engines of flight 1549 and damaged both engines and Captain Sully had to make a decision that would change his life and the lives of those on the plane forever. He would have to make a split-second decision and determined to make a water landing in the Hudson river. Water landings usually mean disaster for planes but Captain Sully and all his experience would come to be tested that day. As he managed to land this airplane in the Hudson River. All souls were saved. The years of training and experience had prepared him with the necessary skills and mind set to rule the realm of his plane well, rather than the plane ruling him.

Tragedy on the Hudson
This is something other than a miracle on the Hudson. This woman’s story reflects not just hers but countless others that – abandonment and broken by the neglect of the man or men in her life. At age 15 she became pregnant and the father didn’t marry her. Within a few more years had 3 more children by a different man. This children’s father refused to marry her as well. This relationship was a volatile one. The mom trying to break free from her past life was trying to put her life back together and this man continued to break her down. Until one day in April of 2011 she posted a good bye on facebook and called her mom and dad and said she loved them and took her four kids and got in her car and drove it into the icy waters of the Hudson river. One child managed to escape and scream for help but within an hour the mom and her other kids were dead. When a man rules his realm well miracles can happen, but when a man doesn’t tragedy strikes. On one hand 155 people were saved and the other 4 people died. A man has to choose how he will use his power given to him.

In Psalm 112 describes the man that God desires. A man that will surrender his life to the lordship of Jesus Christ. Be strengthened in his walk with Christ, be willing to share this wonderful gift with those around him and then he will be remembered for all eternally by those around him.
