- As we move from the outer court into the holy place, we come across three pieces of furniture:

1) The lamp stand

2) The table of showbread

3) The altar of incense

- The golden lamp stand was made of three parts:

a) The base

b) The shaft

c) Six branches, three on each side

- Apart from Christ, man is incapable of light and dwells in darkness.

- The table points to Jesus as our sustainer and the bread on the table is symbolic of His body that was given for us.

- Fellowship is essential for the wellbeing of the believer.

- The word “showbread” literally means the “bread of the faces.”

- The table of showbread was the meeting place of the priesthood every Sabbath.

- The showbread speaks of Christ’s sinless body and redeeming life.

- Bread represents necessary food.

- Jesus is the absolute staple of our spiritual life.

- It is through prayer and the Word of God that we are able to share the life of Jesus.

- The table of showbread and wine pictures the Lord’s Table or the Lord’s Supper, which is an ordinance of the church.

- We are to feast upon the Word of God and fellowship with fellow believers on a regular basis.
