How resilient are you?

Take the quiz developed by Al Siebert, PhD to find out how resilient you are and share the results with your family.
Personal Reflection/Growth Group Questions:
1. Have you ever felt stuck?
2. Did you feel stuck because of a situation or an emotion?
3. Would you consider yourself to be the type of person who bounces back easily from difficult situations or do you tend to get stuck in cycles of disappointment?
4. Would your family describe you as a resilient person?
Resilience is the ability to recover quickly from difficulties.
1. Give up the idea that...
Give up the idea that fast and easy is normal.

Meet Katie Bouman

Katie Bouman was part of the team that developed a way to capture images of a black hole.
Personal Reflection/Growth Group Questions:
1. On a scale of 1-10, how impatient do you get when things aren't fast?
2. What is something that you expect should be fast and easy?
3. What is something you wish was faster or easier than it happens to be?
4. Name an experience that wasn't fast and easy, but turned out to be totally worth the time and effort. What could you learn from that experience?
Hope happens in three stages:
1. When we set realistic goals
2. When we figure out how to achieve those goals.
3. When we believe that we can actually do it.
Personal Reflection/Growth Group Questions:
1. Describe a time when you wanted to give up on something because it was hard but you decided to stick with it. In the end was it worth it?
2. Think about a goal you that you might have and go through the three steps of developing hope. What are your next steps for achieving that goal?

If You Feel Lonely, You're Not Alone.

NBC News Report on millennials and their level of loneliness.
3. Get...
Get connected.
Personal Reflection/Growth Group Questions:
1. Agree or disagree- you have meaningful relationships in your life. If not, are you part of a Growth Group at StoneBridge? Would you consider signing up for a Growth Group the next time they are offered?
2. Children learn hope from their parents. This week, how can you model hopeful thinking with your kids?
3. This month, how can you build relationships within your family? How can you build relationships with your church family?
Next Steps:
Memorize Hebrews 10:23
Choose something that you have thought about giving up on. Set a realistic goal and think of three steps that will help you achieve that goal. Believe that you can do it.
Instead of disconnecting and numbing your feelings, get connected to family and friends.
Connect to God by spending time each day in prayer.

A fun and unique way to participate in missions is to visit the ministry tables after service and purchase paper bead jewelry handmade from the women in Wanyanga, Uganda. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the jewelry sales goes back to the women to buy food and clothing for their children. The women of Uganda thank the members and friends of StoneBridge for your support and continued prayers.
