IN THE STARS

Job 38:32 (KJV)
32 Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons?

1. What is Mazzaroth?

a. let’s back it up and get it in context and make it clear

Job 38:31 (NLT)
31 “Can you direct the movement of the stars— binding the cluster of the Pleiades or loosening the cords of Orion?

2. Here we are introduced the movement of the stars and several constellations.

Job 38:32 (NLT)
32 Can you direct the sequence of the seasons or guide the Bear with her cubs across the heavens?

3. God directs the seasons and the Big Dipper.



4. The Bear is also known as:

a. Arcturus with his sons \
\ Symbolizing human / suffering
b. Ursala Major /

Job 38:33 (NLT)
33 Do you know the laws of the universe? Can you use them to regulate the earth?

5. Now notice, there is a universal law that regulates the earth.

6. That means That God has:

a. established the law of the universe

b. that helps govern the things that transpire on earth

34 “Can you shout to the clouds and make it rain? 35 Can you make lightning appear and cause it to strike as you direct?

7. God’s rule is supreme.

8. What is Mazzaroth?

Mazzaroth - Hb - mazzārôt - some noted constellation (only in the plural), collectively the zodiac

Mazzaroth refers:

a. to the twelve signs of the zodiac

b. mentioned only here in Scripture

Psalms 147:4 (KJV)
4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

9. Each star or cluster has a name given by God.

Genesis 1:16 (NLT)
16 God made two great lights, the sun and the moon—the larger one to govern the day, and the smaller one to govern the night. He also made the stars.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN
ASTRONOMY AND ASTROLOGY

Astronomy - is the study of objects and matter outside the earth's atmosphere.

Astrology - is divination (occult practices) of how stars and planets influence our lives.

15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

19. Astronomy is a science, and astrology is not.

13 All the advice you receive has made you tired. Where are all your astrologers, those stargazers who make predictions each month? Let them stand up and save you from what the future holds. 14 But they are like straw burning in a fire; they cannot save themselves from the flame. 20. Reading your zodiac prediction comes from false prophets.

SYMBOLIZING - the kenosis, or duality of Jesus

32. Gemini the Twins has two symbolic meanings.

1) Jesus, Son of man and Son of God

2) Jesus, the suffering servant and the righteous judge.

#3 LIBRA - the Scales__________________

20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

33. The scales shows that your “balance’ is zero, the Blood paid it off.

a. because of sin, we have a debt

SYMBOL - a balance or a scale used for measuring.

SYMBOLIZING - redemption price that must be paid

34. The scales shows that your “balance’ is zero, the Blood paid it off.

35. The balance shows:

a. that man does not possess the power to save himself.

#4 CAPRICORN - half Goat half Fish________

25 God sacrificed Jesus on the altar of the world to clear that world of sin. Having faith in him sets us in the clear. God decided on this course of action in full view of the public—to set the world in the clear with himself through the sacrifice of Jesus, finally taking care of the sins he had so patiently endured.

SYMBOL - an animal which is part-goat and part-fish.

36. It also reflects His duality again by:

a. being the sacrificial animal (goat) from heaven

b. for all of mankind (fish) from earth

8 Abraham said, "Son, God will see to it that there's a sheep for the burnt offering." And they kept on walking together.

#5 AQUARIUS - the Water Bearer__________

SYMBOL - man pouring out water from a jug.

38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

SYMBOLIZING - the pouring out of living waters for all to partake.

40. Water is necessary for fish to survive.

a. water symbolizes the Holy Spirit

b. fish symbolizes humanity

19 Jesus said to them, "Come with me. I'll make a new kind of fisherman out of you. I'll show you how to catch men and women instead of perch and bass."

41. Jesus poured and it introduced to us th ministry of the Holy Spirit.

42. It also symbolizes:

a. that an individual (fish) is unable to survive

b. apart from the Holy Spirit (living waters)

SYMBOLIZING - Jew and Gentile becoming one “catch” under Jesus

#7 ARIES - the Ram______________________

SYMBOL - a ram

Revelation 5:6 (MSG)
6 So I looked, and there, surrounded by Throne, Animals, and Elders, was a Lamb, slaughtered but standing tall. Seven horns he had, and seven eyes, the Seven Spirits of God sent into all the earth.

SYMBOLIZING - multiple meanings

1. Jesus as the sacrificial (ram in a thicket) for Jew and Gentile

2. The reign of Jesus who will soon return

#8 SAGITTARIUS - the Archer____________

Revelation 6:2 (KJV)
2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

SYMBOL - a centaur with a bow and arrow

a. centaur symbolizing the swiftness of mancharging the enemy

Isaiah 5:28 (NLT)
28 Their arrows will be sharp and their bows ready for battle. Sparks will fly from their horses’ hooves, and the wheels of their chariots will spin like a whirlwind.

44. This was a description of the swiftness of the Babylonian army.

46. This represents Satan’s intention is to sting and kill the children of God.

55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

SYMBOL - a scorpion in striking position

SYMBOLIZING - that sin leads to the sting of death

#10 CANCER - the Crab________________

SYMBOL -a crab able to defend / protect from any direction

5 Then GOD will bring back the ancient pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night and mark Mount Zion and everyone in it with his glorious presence, his immense, protective presence, 6 shade from the burning sun and shelter from the driving rain.

SYMBOLIZING - resting in Jesus’ protection

d. it is an act of judgment and banishment

#12 LEO - the Lion___________________

SYMBOL -a lion

SYMBOLIZING - Jesus reigning triumphantly

48. In the form of a lion (Leo), this will be the victory of Jesus Christ:

GEMINI - He is both

a. the Son of Man

b. the Son of God

LIBRA - His blood on the altar paid the price for our sins

a. our balance is zero

CAPRICORN - He is the sacrificial animal for all mankind

a. the ram, heavens sacrifice

b. the man, freely laid down His human form for all mankind

AQUARIUS - He poured out living waters for...

PISCES - humanity, who need the Holy Spirit to live

ARIES - He became a sacrifice for both Jew and Gentile

a. in the end, He will reign over all of humanity

SAGITTARIUS - He will swiftly defeat the enemy

SCORPIO - the last enemy to be defeated is death

55. The arrow from Sagittarius is pointed at Scorpio showing a conflict between good and evil.

CANCER - shows that we have divine protection during this conflict

TAURUS - that He will trample down the enemy with brute force

LEO - that He will emerge triumphant and reign forever

Prayer of Salvation

Dear Lord,
I admit that I am a sinner. I have done many things that don’t please you. I have lived my life for myself. I am sorry and I repent. I ask that you forgive me. I believe that you died on the cross to save me. You did for me what I could not do for myself and I come to you now and ask you to take control of my life. Lord, I love you.
