Ways To Cope With Big Changes

Here are 10 tips for coping with big changes in your life and coming out a better person for it.
Personal Reflection / Growth Groups Questions
1. When you hear the word 'change', what's your first, gut reaction? Why might that be?
2. When have you experienced positive change? Do your experiences with positive change ever carry over to your first, gut reaction? Why or why not?
3. How are you feeling about this season of change StoneBridge is currently in? Are you interpreting it as a positive? Why or why not?
4. What's your role in guaranteeing a successful, positive change for our community of faith?

The Flywheel Effect

Each turn of the flywheel builds upon work done earlier, compounding your investment of effort. The flywheel image captures the overall feel of what it was like inside (institutions) as they went from good to great... the good-to-great transformations never happened in one fell swoop.
Personal Reflection / Growth Groups Questions
1. One key aspect of the flywheel as an illustration is, "...that one thing." In your opinion, what is StoneBridge's "one thing"? (If there's disagreement, try to refine your responses and/or find unity).
2. Another key aspect of the flywheel as an illustration is, momentum generated in same direction. How would you grade yourself, your growth group, your ministry team, and StoneBridge as a whole on, momentum generated in the same direction? Can you explain the grade you gave? Can it be improved upon? How?
3. Be willing to change everything else.
Acts 15:1-2, 4-7, 11, 28-29 NIV

Upward, Inward, and Forward
Look upward at uplifting events.
Look inward at who we are at our core.
Look forward at a direction and next step.
Personal Reflection / Growth Group Question
1. How do you feel about what Pastor Neal said- "Once 'the one thing' is clear, be willing to change everything else."?
2. Have you ever experienced what appeared to be an impending dead end, only to find an unexpected 'out'? Share your story. How does that experience speak into your faith? How do stories like this address the topic of change? How might personal stories like these speak to StoneBridge's perceivable current and future challenges?

Are We Ready For Change?

Before we can begin to go down the road of making successful changes, we must recognize and be convicted of the need to change. As Paul tells us in Ephesians 4, we must evaluate ourselves against God's righteousness and true holiness to identify the specific changes we need to make.

What's Next Registration

During this season of pastoral transition, clearly determining the path forward is an essential step for StoneBridge Community Church. What’s Next? will be the primary way that church members, regular attenders, and our broader worshipping community contribute to the discernment process. What’s Next? is a corporate discovery process uniquely developed by Pastor Neal that will help formulate our church’s vision and the next steps towards successfully accomplishing it. Pastor Neal encourages everyone to register and participate. The more who participate, the clearer the road forward will be. For your convenience, there will be two sessions of What’s Next? Saturday, April 27, 8:30am – noon OR Saturday, May 4, 8:30am- noon. You’re invited to sign up and register for one. Sign up on the patio during after worship or click below to register online. A $10 registration pays for materials. What’s Next? will be held at The United Methodist Church in Simi (2394 Erringer Rd, Simi Valley, CA 93065).
