1. One of a kind items are both unique and often expensive- eg Porsche; and fountain pens
2. Let's not be guilty of forgetting the uniqueness of the Kingdom of God

THE UNIQUE KING OF THE KINGDOM (v 1-2)
1. Jesus is KING of kings and LORD of lords (1Tim 6:15; Rev 19:16)
2. We serve a unique King because: ________________
3. Matthew 5:1-2 shows another unique characteristic of our King: He is approachable
4. Jesus saw the crowd of people and they came to him

THE UNIQUE CITIZENS OF THE KINGDOM (v 3-4)
1. Verses 3-12 known as the "Beatitudes"
2. Where did the word beatitude come from?
3. The Latin (Vulgate)-- you would see a form of this Latin word used for our English word blessed
4. Define blessed
5. What does this mean for the Citizens of Jesus's Kingdom? We are not to be passive
6. In order to enter the Kingdom we must have these "attitudes"
7. First consider: "poor in spirit"
8. Second, consider the unique characteristic: those who mourn
The citizens are given a great promise by the King: They shall be comforted!
