Baptism
Join us in congratulating Ashley James on getting baptised today. This is a very exciting time for her as she has decided to take this next step in her faith. There will be a shared morning tea this morning. Please remember to pray and encourage those who have recently been baptised.
Winter Bible Conference
Whitiora Bible Church - Sola Scriptura
The conference will now be held Sunday 31st July and Monday 1st August from 6.30pm. More details to come.
Friendly Island Bible Training UPDATE
The 2016 Bible training in Tonga has been broken into 2 week long sessions. Murray Grindlay taught in the first session earlier this year from the 2nd to 13th of May. His studies were in Jeremiah and Leviticus. Day time leader group studies were in Titus and Philemon.
This year Norm Silcock will be teaching in the Northern group of Islands, Vava'u from the 8th to the 15th of September, and then will be teaching again in the Main Island of Nuku'alofa from the 19th to the 30th of September.
Please pray for Norm and Liz for safety on the long boat trip to Vaviu, and for good health.
Music Books
Thank you to those who gave feedback recently on the music books. After assessing the feedback we have decided the best move forward will be to remove Light and Love. Many of the songs from Light and Love are in the new Redemption Hymns. The expanded Mission Praise book will be added as it also has a variety of older and more recent songs. Hukanui Sacred Songs will be removed as well as many of these songs are in the expanded Mission Praise book.
These changes will take affect over the next few months.
Seats
Please keep rear seats on the kitchen side of the chapel free for young families. Please feel free to sit further forward to help achieve this.
Foyer Verse
Thank you to everyone for your feedback on the new Foyer verse. We have chosen a new verse:
"Give thanks to the Lord, call on His name; make known among the nations what He has done." Psalm 105:1.
This verse was chosen because it is God centered, but also has an outward focus.
