Today: The Test You’ll Never Fail - Malachi 3
1 Peter 1:6-7 (AMPC)
6 [You should] be exceedingly glad on this account, though now for a little while you may be distressed by trials and suffer temptations, 7 So that [the genuineness] of your faith may be tested, [your faith] which is infinitely more precious than the perishable gold which is tested and purified by fire. [This proving of your faith is intended] to redound to [your] praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) is revealed.
James 1:2-3 (NIV)
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.
Deuteronomy 8:2 (NIV)
2 Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands.
James 1:5 (NIV)
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
The Tithe
Leviticus 27:30 (NIV)
30 “ ‘A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord.
1) It’s used to provide for God’s House.
2) It’s used to provide for God’s workmen.
3) It’s used to provide for God’s people.
The Tithe Test
Malachi 3:6-12 (NKJV)
6 “For I am the Lord, I do not change;Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob. 7 Yet from the days of your fathersYou have gone away from My ordinancesAnd have not kept them.Return to Me, and I will return to you,”Says the Lord of hosts.“But you said,‘In what way shall we return?’8 “Will a man rob God?Yet you have robbed Me!But you say,‘In what way have we robbed You?’In tithes and offerings. 9 You are cursed with a curse,For you have robbed Me,Even this whole nation. 10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse,That there may be food in My house,And try Me now in this,”Says the Lord of hosts,“If I will not open for you the windows of heavenAnd pour out for you such blessingThat there will not be room enough to receive it. 11 “And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes,So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground,Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,”Says the Lord of hosts; 12 “And all nations will call you blessed,For you will be a delightful land,”Says the Lord of hosts.
