In light of the nationwide debate about abortion, we encourage you to get out and support the movie Unplanned, produced by Pure Flix. This film tells the true story of Abby Johnson, who previously worked at Planned Parenthood as a clinic director but resigned in 2009 and become a pro-life activist. There are free tickets available at the Welcome Center on a first-come, first-served basis to attend a pre-screening this Tuesday at the AMC Classic theater at the Mercer Mall in Bluefield, WV. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and the film will show at 7:00 p.m. sharp with no trailers. We only have a limited number of tickets, but the Abel Pregnancy Resource Center may have additional tickets upon request at 304-325-8694. We encourage families to use discretion in viewing this film.

The 2019 Mercer County Hunger Challenge is this Saturday and Sunday, and we need your help to make it a success! On Saturday and Sunday 1,000 volunteers will come together in the JCBC Gymnasium to assemble 216,000 meals in packages of nutritious dehydrated food product to ship directly to starving families and orphans in South Sudan. Volunteers will also package rice for Tender Mercies, helping to minister to the hungry right here in our community.
