You wouldn’t think that we would need to be reminded of God's grace shown to us in Jesus. But we do.
And, we need to be reminded about how that grace is to be lived out in our relationships with others in the same way that Jesus gave his life for us.
And, we need to be reminded about how that grace is to be lived out in our relationships with others in the same way that Jesus gave his life for us.
In communion, we are invited to reignite our passion for Christ and for one another as we remember Jesus and his passion for us.
"Do this," Jesus said, "in remembering me."
"Do this," Jesus said, "in remembering me."
1. We Remember What Jesus Did For Us
As we remember the story of Passover in the Last Supper of Jesus, we celebrate the triumph of the Lamb of God, given for the sins of the world.

2. We Examine Ourselves
The invitation to communion is an invitation to examine our hearts and our attitudes towards others.

3. We Discern The Body
To “discern the body” is to recognize in the communion elements the self-giving love of Jesus AND to recognize that, as “the body of Christ,” Christians are called and empowered to be broken bread and poured out blood for one another and for our neighbor.

4. We Proclaim The Lord’s Death Until He Comes
In “proclaiming” the Lord’s death, we are “claiming” the Lord’s death as our only means of life and peace.
In humility, we are taking up our cross and following Jesus.
