Gateway Church
Life Giving | Week 2: The Proof of Life
Generosity is one of the fundamental messages taught at Gateway Church. In fact, moving from selfishness to a life of generosity is transformative to your finances as well as every area of your life. In Life Giving, a new series from Pastor Jimmy Evans, you’ll learn about the blessings that come with a life of generosity. This series will teach you that generosity doesn’t just bless those around you, it’s truly life giving to you as well. This weekend, Pastor Jimmy Evans continues this series with a message titled “The Proof of Life” where he shares how giving opens the door to great blessings from God.

A. Proof on the Power of Giving from the Words of Jesus
Truth #1: It is blessed to receive.
Truth #2: The person who gives is more blessed than the person who receives.
B. Why Giving Is More Blessed than Receiving
1. It breaks a spirit of selfishness and self-consciousness off of us.
2. It breaks a mind-set of entitlement and poverty.
3. Giving is dynamic, and receiving is static.
4. Giving is in my control and releases the power of a universal law of God. Receiving puts me at the mercy of someone else giving to me and isn’t a universally promised experience—unless we are givers.
5. Giving is eternal, and receiving is temporal.
6. Giving keeps my heart turned toward the object of my affection.
7. Giving reveals to me the reality of God’s presence, love, and faithfulness in my life.
What is the Holy Spirit saying to me through this message?

About Gateway Church

Gateway Church is a multicampus, nondenominational church in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex led by Pastor Robert Morris. Since it began in 2000, the church has grown to more than 39,000 active members and six local campuses. Its vision is to see people saved, healed, set free, discipled, equipped, empowered, and serving; and its mission is to help each person at Gateway believe in Jesus, belong to family, become a follower, and build God’s kingdom. We’re all about people.
