The Importance of Generosity

· Proverbs tells us to give generously (Proverbs 11:25; Proverbs 22:9)

· Jesus tells us to give generously (Luke 6:30; Acts 20:35)

· Generous giving reflects the character of God in us


The Benefits of Generosity

· Generous giving grows faith in our lives

· Generous giving blesses others

· Generous giving grows our love for Jesus

· Generous giving helps develop our spiritual maturity

· Generous giving means investing in spiritual things which brings a great return on investment (Luke 6:38)

· Generous giving provides the promise of our needs being met (Philippians 4:19; Philippians 4:18)

· Generous giving bring praise to the Lord


The Attitudes of Generosity

· God’s perspective: Giving is about our heart, not the money – the money is simply the vehicle God uses to change our heart

· We are to give sacrificially – it has to make a difference in our life

· We are to give generously

· We are to give joyfully

· Giving to the Lord MUST be a priority in our life
