What is an "it's complicated" relationship?
1. It is a “sort of” commitment, which means it’s something like a relationship without full commitment.
2. It is where you might be someone, but that someone is not necessarily with you.
3. You are exchanging goods (the fulfillment of certain needs and wants) for services (mostly sex).
4. You are just friends with options.
5. The goal is to seek pleasure and focus on self, not commitment and honor

QUESTIONS TO PONDER
1. Am I valuable?
2. What am I worth?
3. What do I deserve?
4. What am I searching for?
5. Why am I comfortable with someone taking from me without committing to me?

TRUTHS TO CONSIDER
Ephesians 1:4 – “Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.”
Ephesians 2:4-5 – “But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)
Also refer to Psalm 136:26, Psalm 86:15, 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, and 1 John 4:7-8

TRUTHS TO CONSIDER (cont.)
You cannot have a committed relationship that is built on non-commitment. Someone will “accidentally” commit. Someone is going to catch feelings.
You cannot share intimacy and not catch feelings. You may start off the relationship with certain rules like it’s just sex, we’re just having fun, we’re just having a good time or we both know that this isn’t going anywhere; however, someone is going to catch feelings.
Value doesn’t beg. If you know who you are in God then you won’t ever settle to be sloppy seconds to someone who won’t commit to make you first. Either you’re first material or not!
1 Corinthians 6:19-20– “Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.”
Acceptance, security, identity and affirmation are important foundational needs for every being. If you do not have them as a child then you will go in search for them as an adult. And, the enemy will convince you to fill your legitimate needs illegitimately.

THINGS TO REMEMBER
1. You have so much more to offer, and you’re worth much more.
2. Adam KNEW Eve, and whether you believe it or not, you’re worth knowing, too—deeply; intimately.
3. Make up your mind that you don’t have time for “sort of” commitments. Either commit to you or leave you alone.
4. Never settle.
