The Unveiling of the Book of Revelations, Part 15

Revelation 1:3 says, "Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. A blessing is attached to the person that reads it, hears it and keeps it in their heart what is written in this prophecy given to the Apostle John.

We have now arrived at Chapter 18. We talked about the harlot’s religious system in Chapter 17 and we also talked about the beast system in Chapter 17 and how they were connected.

The coming together of the harlot’s religious company fulfills Paul's prophecy concerning a spiritual falling away.

This precedes the emergence of the Anti-Christ and the false prophet in
2 Thessalonians 2:3, "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.."

We know the falling away was the removal of the church. The Anti-Christ cannot be reveal until we are out of here. The Anti-Christ’s mid-tribulation destruction of the harlot church clears the way for his attempt to become the worldwide religious leader.

Which was doomed from the get-go! Revelation 18 serves as the harlot’s obituary. So it says, Revelation 18:1, "And after these things i saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory."
This angel came from heaven full of the Glory of God.

So much so the glory lightened the earth; that’s the kind of glory we’re pressing for. Look at Verse 2:

Revelation 18:2
"And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird."
Remember Babylon the great was one of the harlot’s titles in Chapter 17.

That religious system was truly the habitation of devils. It was totally demonic and still is! It’s been around for a long time.

Revelation 18:3-4
"For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies."
That harlot church had a great influence over kings and nations. It also made them wealthy! It was the commercial center of the world!

"And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues."

There are still people in the world’s religious order during this time who had no desire to be a part of the harlot church. So the Holy Spirit who is still on the earth warns them of the danger of getting involved with her. He pleads with them saying, "Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, why so? That ye receive not of her plagues."

Stay away from those religious organizations that are moving away from the one and True God. Revelation 18:5-7:
"For her sins have reached unto heaven, and god hath remembered her iniquities. Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double."
This harlot church will receive double of the trouble she has caused.

Verse 7, "How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, i sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow."

She thought she had it going on. She had kings in her back pocket and was storing wealth in abundance. She said to herself i’m on top of the world! For that. For thinking she was all that. For being full of pride.

Verse 8"Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the lord god who judgeth her."

This harlot church was destroyed in one day. That’s all it took.

Verse 9,"And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning.."

Some say it will be hit with by nuclear attack.

Verse 10, "Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour is thy judgment come."

Some say it will be hit with by nuclear attack. In one hour she’s done. Kings of the earth had gotten so dependent upon her that they are overcome with grief when they see what happened to her. But they are amazed at the same time. All it took was one hour and she was gone, Notice they don’t even want to come near her in fear that they are next.

Verse 11, "And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:"

This gives you an idea of how much this harlot church had become the commercial center of the world.

Verse 12-13, "The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble, and cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men."

You could buy whatever you needed but you could sell your product and make a lot of money. You could even buy the souls of men.

Verse 14,"And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all. The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, and saying, alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls."

There’s going to be a total breakdown in the financial system when she goes down. This will be worst than any stock market crash folks.

Verse 17-19, "For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off, and cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, what city is like unto this great city. And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! For in one hour is she made desolate."

Three worlds were affected by the fall of this harlot church and it’s commercial center:
• Governments suffered a great blow,
• The commercial world suffered and great loss,
• And the maritime world went belly up when she was destroyed in one hour.

They started crying as they’re seeing the city burn while all the merchandise on their ships just became worthless.

While they are crying it says in Revelation 18:20, "Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye Holy Apostles and Prophets; for God hath avenged you on her."
This reminds me of Lebron James yelling out, “Cleveland this is for you!” at the NBA finals.

God is saying rejoice those in heaven, Rejoice ye Holy Apostles and Prophets, this is for you!

Verse 21-23, "And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, thus with violence shall that great city babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all. And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee; and the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived."
This harlot church deceived nations! That’s how powerful it was.

Verse 24, "And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth."
The harlot is responsible for the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth. This means God is punishing the harlot religious system equal to what she would receive if she were responsible for all that were slain on the earth. This religious system is so evil that god puts the desire to totally destroy her in the hearts of the ten kings under the authority of the Anti-Christ.

They destroyed her in one hour. Never again will there be events of life in that city.

Now we get to Chapter 19. The description of heaven rejoicing over the destruction of the harlot places the opening events of Revelation 19 after Mid-Tribulation.

Chapter 19 is the story of heaven and of earth.
Revelation 19:1
"And after these things i heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, alleluia; salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the lord our God.."

Another worship to add to your list! It says a great voice of much people in heaven. This proves that people have been caught up to heaven in time for the marriage of the lamb.

Verse 2-5, "For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. And again they said, alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever. And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped god that sat on the throne, saying, amen; alleluia. And a voice came out of the throne, saying, praise our god, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great."

God expects praise from all his servants.

Verse 6, " And i heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, alleluia: for the lord god omnipotent reigneth."

Add this to your list!

Revelation 19:7-9, "Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, write, blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the lamb. And he saith unto me, these are the true sayings of God."

As we see the marriage of the lamb and the marriage supper takes place in heaven. This praise and worship is a preparation for the marriage of the lamb. The group we see at the throne is composed of the raptured church, the great multitude, and the 144,000 Jewish Evangelist.

From what we read in chapter 14 we can place the 144,000 in this heavenly scene. Notice, John says, "Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the lamb. These are the true sayings of God."
You are a part of that company!

Revelation 19:10
"And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, see thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy.
"
It says the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy. Every born again believer has a testimony of Jesus and how they got saved. When you share your testimony with other’s, of your conversion experience, you’re prophesying of what can happen to them. If God did it for me he will do it for you. So when you share your personal testimony, the spirit of prophecy comes upon you.

Now, Verse 11 transitions from heaven back to earth. In the remainder of the chapter both stories are combined.

Revelation 19:11
"And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called faithful and true, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war."
So the Lord Jesus is the rider on this white horse and he’s returning to the earth. It says he’s coming to judge and make war. In other words he’s coming to take care of some Kingdom business. God is not only a God of love but he also, throughout the scriptures, a God of vengeance and recompense.

As John continues to describe Jesus in Revelation 19:12-15:
"His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called the word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and Wrath of Almighty God."

The winepress here in Verse 15 is the same one in Revelation 14:19-20:
"And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs."

Go back to Revelation 19:15, "And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

Jesus treads the winepress, destroying the Anti-Christ’s evil forces at Armageddon.

Verse 16,"And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King of Kings, and Lord of Lords."

So King Jesus leaves heaven to settle things on earth. He goes to put his feet down on the earth, with fire in his eyes, his purpose is to judge and make war.

On the earth, the Anti-Christ has also prepared to make war. He has gatherer the forces of Armageddon in Chapter 16:16. War has spread over the land, and he has besieged Jerusalem.

Turn to Zechariah 14:1-4, "Behold, the day of the lord cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
Then shall the lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south."

Just as the Anti-Christ is thinking i’m going to wipe them out. This is my time! He looks up and sees Israel's Messiah coming on a white horse.

Earth’s rightful king has showed up and using the two-edge sword, god’s word, he speaks into existence the plague that destroys the vast armies arrayed against him.

Look at verse Zechariah 14:12:
"And this shall be the plague wherewith the lord will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth."

Go back to Revelation 19:17
"And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; that ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great. And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, [Jesus] and against his army."

It says he that sat on the horse and his army. Well who is the army? The army is not on earth, trying to make war. The armies are coming from heaven with him. That’s us! We too are riding white horses as we seen in verse 14.

Revelation 19:20, "And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image."

These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

"And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh."

The fowls of the earth are called to clean up the battlefield. They are called God’s sanitation engineers! The reason God has them clean up the battlefield so quickly is because if these dead bodies were allow to stay there too long they would cause diseases to spread like a plague. This ends the battle of Armageddon, which only takes one hour!

Jesus walks from the mount of olives through the little Valley of Kidron and onto the temple mount to assume control of all governments which fulfills:
Isaiah 9:6-7:
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the Throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this."

Jesus is proclaimed Lord of Lords, King of Kings, and the Prince of Peace.
Then the Lord Jesus begins his wonderful 1000 – year reign of peace and righteousness on earth. Then we seen where the Anti-Christ and the False Prophet are cast alive in the lake of fire to begin their eternal punishment.
