Jesus is the vine, God is the vinedresser, and Christians are the branches that produce fruit. The branches that do not produce fruit are not genuine Christians, but are superficial Christians who were never really Christian to begin with.

The burden of proof that your salvation is genuine is not that you know Jesus or pray to Jesus, but that you are producing fruit. True Christians produce fruit.
