In this first talk, we'll begin look at the "wisdom literature" of scripture, which includes Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Job. We'll begin today by looking at Proverbs.

I love Proverbs because this 3,000 year old book "fathered" me. In the absence of a dad providing wisdom for me, this collection of ancient sayings passed on wisdom, as a father speaking to a son.

Proverbs 9 describes two women, Wisdom and Folly, as both have prepared a banquet to feast and both say exactly the same message. What this means is that both God and culture claim to be able to provide "the good life" for us. Choose wisely.
