RESPONSE: Telling Others About Jesus

RESPONSE: Telling Others About Jesus

Now that I have allowed Jesus to have control of my life, what is the key to keeping my relationship with Him fresh and growing? How do I fan the flame and stay warm in my new life? There are simple disciplines that can become a part of my life that will encourage growth, service, and fulfillment in my new walk with Jesus. In order to please Him, I must adjust my life to accommodate these aspects of responding to the One who sought me out and made me His own.

Taking Jesus to Others

Why should I take the responsibility to talk to others about Jesus?

I have GOOD NEWS that is worth talking about.

There are PEOPLE in my life that do not know Jesus.

What is God’s desire for me in telling others about Jesus?

He has COMMISSIONED me to tell others.

He EXPECTS me to share the message of Jesus to others.

How do I fulfill my commission of telling others about Jesus?

I should learn HOW to witness to others.

I will be OBEDIENT in opportunities that God gives me to share my faith.
#Four4Four

Action #1- Identify 4 lost people and record their name on your #Four4Four card. Look around where you work, your neighborhood, clubs, or kids sports teams. Ask God to open your eyes to those who may need the hope of Jesus.

Action #2- Pray for each of your 4 people four times each week. Set aside time daily to pray for opportunities to connect with your 4 and that the Spirit would grant you favor in their eyes.

Action #3- Cultivate a relationship with your 4, four times this year. Meals, fishing, a barbeque. Any way to casually spend time in a comfortable and friendly environment.

Action #4- Share in a Gospel experience with each of your 4 this year. Share the Gospel with your 4, four times this year. Share your personal story with Jesus once and then invite them to a Gospel event like church, small group, etc. 3 times.

Telling Others About Jesus
Facilitation for 06-19-16

Possible Ice Breaker: How did you come to Jesus in a life changing way?

1. If you had to name one thing that you thought was the best thing about what Jesus does for an individual, what would it be?

2. In Luke 8:39, Jesus says, Go back home and tell people how much God has done for you. So the man went all over town telling how much Jesus had done for him. If someone was to ask you how much God had done for you, what would you say?

3. 1 Corinthians 15:34 says, Some do not have the knowledge of God, I say this to your shame. Who do you know that you most want to be saved? What do you think it will take for that to happen? What do you think you could do to assist in the process of that one coming to Jesus?

4. Matthew 28:19 says, “Go and make disciples”. The word used for “go” means as you are going or as your life is unfolding. Who in your life best demonstrated Jesus to you as their everyday life unfolded? What part did this person’s life have in your faith in Christ? How has your life influenced another to follow Jesus?

5. 1 Peter 3:15 says, Be ready at all times to answer anyone who asks you to explain the hope you have in you. Who of us has ever led someone to Jesus? How would you describe the feeling that comes with such an experience?

6. Who do you think is in your life right now that would maybe be open to a conversation about becoming a Christian?

7. It may be good to have the group go around the room and practice giving a one minute testimony to an imaginary seeker. Use the formula below to tell your story in one minute.
1. My life before Jesus came in.
2. What brought me to Jesus.
3. My life since Jesus has become Lord of my life.
