Give Online

The Bible teaches us to give the first 10% of our income to the "storehouse." God says we can test Him by doing this and watching Him take care of us in return. This may sound like a stretch to you! Just take a step toward toward that goal. If you currently give nothing, start giving something. If you give something, try increasing it a step toward the 10% goal. Trust God! Give Him your first before anything else by setting up a recurring, automated donation online. You will then receive quarterly updates about how your giving is making a difference and how your donations are being used.

Bottom Line: When someone I love is in the battle, I can stand in the gap
1. Someone around me is fighting a battle.

Instead of only asking, "God, help me with my battles."
Start also asking, "God, who around me needs someone standing in the gap?"
2. I don't have to fight their battle to stand in the gap.
4. Jesus stands in the gap for me.
3. Standing in the gap means carrying someone when they can't carry themselves.
START TALKING:

When have you needed someone to help you with something from a long way away, and even though they couldn't fix the specific problem for you, they were able to help you make it happen?
START THINKING:

Read Exodus 17:9-10. Why didn't Moses, Aaron, and Hur fight the battle, too? What is the significance of this being God's plan for this battle?

Read Exodus 17:11-12. There was nothing magical about the staff. This was an act of faith. What do you think God wanted Moses, the people of Israel, and now us to learn from this part of the story?

Read Exodus 17:13. Who was really responsible for the battle being won? Who was really fighting?
START SHARING:

In this story, the battle is obvious. In most examples, the battle may not be so explicit unless we are paying attention. How can you tell when someone is in a battle? What is required to know that someone you care about is in the midst of a battle?

Moses didn't have to pick up a sword to be part of fighting the battle. When has someone stood in the gap for you when you were in the midst of a battle? When has God used you to stand in the gap for someone else?

Read Hebrews 7:25 and Romans 8:34. When have you come out of a battle and as you looked back, you saw how Jesus had been standing the gap for you? How did you see it or sense it in the midst of the battle? How can this help you as you prepare to go into the next battle or when you are in the midst of the next battle?
START DOING:

Read Galatians 6:2. What can we do as a micro church to stand in the gap for each other?

Who is someone far from God--maybe your "one"--that you can stand in the gap for? How will you do that this week?
START PRAYING:

Go around the micro church and share how you need people standing in the gap for you. Then begin to pray for each other and commit to doing so each day. Pray for the people far from God that each person in the micro church will be standing in the gap for. Thank God for Jesus standing in the gap for us, and ask Him to lead us each day to be more like Him.
We want your experience with Jesus and this community of faith called OneLife to be so much more than an hour on Sundays! See below how you can take a next step.

Take a Next Step!

Don't just attend church for an hour a week. Take a step! What step should you take?
1. Follow Jesus! If you have followed Jesus...
2. Get baptized! If you are following Jesus, then that's all you need to be "ready" to take this step.
3. Volunteer! Don't simply be a consumer, but be part of making a difference in the lives of those who come to OneLife to experience Jesus. There are weekday and Sunday opportunities. Get info about what opportunities there are for you!
4. Join a micro church! You can't have true community sitting in rows with a large crowd. That's not the church - it's an event! Micro churches are small "churches" of 10-12 adults that meet in homes throughout the week to learn together, pray together, serve the community together, and care for each other together.
Get more information about any of the above, send us your prayer requests so we can pray with you, or ask any question we can help you with by filling out the online connection card!
