Weekly Sermon Overview:
Is it possible to be so focused on work, or so immersed in mission, that feeling overwhelmed and burnt out makes it difficult to see Jesus walking right alongside? That feeling has been shared by followers of Christ for 2,000 years; from the Road to Emmaus down to a group of church members serving during hurricane relief in Perry, Florida.
In Luke 24:13–35, two disciples walked seven miles from Jerusalem to Emmaus, downcast and exhausted from the weekend's events. Jesus walked right alongside them, yet remained unrecognized until sitting down, breaking bread, and sharing a meal.
This Sunday, St. Andrew’s will gather in worship at one Table with millions of Christians across every nation, language, and culture to celebrate World Communion Sunday and break bread together.
All are invited to join; whether arriving full of faith, carrying a weary heart, or seeking God’s grace for the first time. Come explore what it means to have eyes opened to Christ through stories and photos reflecting St. Andrew’s mission efforts: from local outreach in Brandon, to global partnerships, to moments of hope amidst debris during the recent hurricane relief trip.
Gather in person or online this Sunday to sit at the Open Table to break bread, celebrate, and recognize Jesus.
