Amalek struck Israel without provocation (Deut 25:17-18).
Pharaoh ordered Hebrew infants killed (Exodus 1:15-16).
Haman sought to exterminate every Jew in Persia (Esther 3:13).
Rome crushed the Bar Kokhba revolt and renamed the land to erase the Jewish connection to it.
The Crusades and the blood libel brought centuries of
massacres and expulsions across Europe.
Pogroms swept Russia and Eastern Europe into the 1900s.
Six million Jews were murdered in the Holocaust,
with Haj Amin al-Husseini, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem,
allying with Hitler and helping recruit Muslim SS units.
Today it's Hamas's charter, Iran's regime, and a resurgent cultural antisemitism.
"They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance." (Psalm 83:4)
"And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people... though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it." (Zechariah 12:3)
There is and has been an ongoing spiritual war against Israel.

1. God's Covenant People
Israel is the smallest of nations, chosen out of love, not size.
"The Lord did not set his love upon you... because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people: but because the Lord loved you." (Deut 7:7-8)
God swore a covenant to Israel through Abraham.
"Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant." (Deut 7:9)
Israel is called God's firstborn son.
"Israel is my son, even my firstborn." (Exodus 4:22)
2. God's Promised Land
To your offspring I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates." (Genesis 15:18)
I will give to you and to your offspring... all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession." (Genesis 17:8)
