The Bible teaches us to give the first 10% of our income to the "storehouse." God says we can test Him by doing this and watching Him take care of us in return. This may sound like a stretch to you! Just take a step toward toward that goal. If you currently give nothing, start giving something. If you give something, try increasing it a step toward the 10% goal. Trust God! Give Him your first before anything else by setting up a recurring, automated donation online. You will then receive quarterly updates about how your giving is making a difference and how your donations are being used.
http://www.onelifeknox.com/giveBottom Line: God's Word must become louder than the war within.
1. Recognize the war within.
WANT - DO - HATE
2. Knowing what's right doesn't end the fight.
3. The battle is ultimately for what I believe.
4. The Word is my weapon.
START TALKING:
What are some examples from everyday life of things you know you need to do and you want to do them, but then you do something different and hate that you didn't do what you wanted to do?!

START THINKING:
Read Romans 7:14-15. What does Paul say is really the problem? Why is this a necessary and crucial first step to winning the war within?
Read Romans 7:16-17. Why does knowing what is wrong prove that I know God's law is good for me?
Read Romans 7:18-20. Paul talks about sinful nature, comparing it to a life in Christ. How can we embrace this without going too far one way or the other; that is, either feeling defeated or taking no responsibility? Why is it important to separate what I do from who I am in terms of identity?

START SHARING:
In Romans 7:15, Paul gives us the Want - Do - Hate cycle: I want to do what pleases God, I do something else instead, and then I hate what I did. In what ways do you experience this? How does this war within most impact you? How can recognizing that cycle help you to stop it in its tracks? (Hint, consider 2 Corinthians 10:5).
Read Romans 7:21-23. Paul compares what he wants in his heart (to please God) to a war with his mind. The war within is a battle for our beliefs. Do I believe the lie that temptation offers or do I believe what God says and His promises? In the areas where you experience the Want - Do - Hate cycle, what are the beliefs that the temptation offers versus the beliefs from God's Word that say otherwise?
Read Romans 8:5, Ephesians 6:17, and John 1:1. With all of these in mind together, how does the Word of God become louder than the war within? How have you experienced the written Word, the personified Word (Jesus), and the voice of the Word (the Holy Spirit) being louder than the lies of temptation and the Want - Do - Hate cycle?

START DOING:
What will you do this week to better know Jesus (the Word) and meditate on His word (the Scriptures)?
When you pray, how will you begin to listen for the Spirit more than doing all the talking? How do you know when God is speaking, and what role does the written Word play when you believe you have heard from Him?
How will you use these concepts in conversation with your "one" and others who are far from God so that they can hear through your story how Jesus brings victory over the war within?

START PRAYING:
Pray for each other in the micro church to stand firm in their faith, especially in the areas shared throughout the conversation above. Pray that our identity in Christ and standing on his promise that there is now no condemnation for those of us who are in him will ring so much louder than the schemes of the enemy and the war within. Pray for each person to love those where they live work and play like Jesus loves them and to live like a missionary, pointing those who are far from God to an experience with Jesus.

We want your experience with Jesus and this community of faith called OneLife to be so much more than an hour on Sundays! See below how you can take a next step.
Take a Next Step!
Don't just attend church for an hour a week. Take a step! What step should you take?
1. Follow Jesus! If you have followed Jesus...
2. Get baptized! If you are following Jesus, then that's all you need to be "ready" to take this step.
3. Volunteer! Don't simply be a consumer, but be part of making a difference in the lives of those who come to OneLife to experience Jesus. There are weekday and Sunday opportunities. Get info about what opportunities there are for you!
4. Join a micro church! You can't have true community sitting in rows with a large crowd. That's not the church - it's an event! Micro churches are small "churches" of 10-12 adults that meet in homes throughout the week to learn together, pray together, serve the community together, and care for each other together.
Get more information about any of the above, send us your prayer requests so we can pray with you, or ask any question we can help you with by filling out the online connection card!
