- God created you to belong. He didn’t just save you from something. He saved you into something.

- When you gave your life to Jesus, you didn’t just get a Savior. You got a family: A Family with a Mission.

- REMINDER: church isn’t something we attend, it’s who we are.

You are FX!

A healthy Christian life operates in all 5 circles of church:

1. Personal Devotional Life (Me & Jesus)

- If Jesus needed intentional time alone with the Father, we certainly do.

- Nobody can walk with God for you.

- Your pastor can't pray for you enough to replace your prayer life.

- Your group can't read your Bible for you.

- Your coach can't know God for you.

- Before Jesus sent them, He had them with Him. He discipled them.

- Discipleship wasn’t merely classroom instruction, they traveled together, ate together, talked together, and ministered together.

- Jesus corrected them, encouraged them, and challenged them.

- Jesus didn’t just preach to His disciples, He did life with them.

- The early church had church in the temple AND house-to-house >> they had rows and they had circles.

- Sunday gives you something your group can’t give you, and your group gives you something Sunday can’t give you.

- Sunday isn’t everything—but Sunday matters. We gather. We worship together. We hear the Word. We use spiritual gifts. We serve. We encourage each other. We encounter God together.

- There are things God does when the church gathers that aren’t identical to what happens alone.

- What God does IN me eventually needs to flow THROUGH me.

- God blesses me, changes me, and develops me—and then sends me.

Most Christians try to live in two circles: Me & Jesus.

And: Me & My Church. “I pray. I read my Bible. I come on Sunday.” All good. But that’s only two of five.

One of the circles the modern church has especially struggled to restore is #2: LIFE-ON-LIFE DISCIPLESHIP."

Everybody Needs a Coach!

A coach is someone intentionally helping you take your next step with God.

- You need somebody close enough to sharpen you.

- Everybody falls sometimes. The question is: who’s close enough to pick you up?

- Everybody needs a coach!

- We grow better when we grow together!

- You need people who love you enough to tell you the truth.

- There are things you may not see about yourself - that’s why you need someone else.

- If you grow better when you grow together, then here’s the question: Who’s intentionally helping you grow? Who’s coaching you?

- “Okay Pastor, find me a coach." You don't just need to find a coach. You need to be a coach!"

- PAUL → TIMOTHY → FAITHFUL PEOPLE → OTHERS. That’s four generations of discipleship in one verse. This is how Christianity multiplies.

- Who's coaching you, AND who are you coaching?

- Look at these five circles and ask yourself: Which circle is missing from my life?”

- Do I have:
> Time with Jesus?
> Someone helping me grow?
> A group where I’m known?
> A church I’m committed to?
> Someone outside the church I’m trying to reach?

Which part of your life isn’t reflecting the fact that Christ is your life?

- Ask yourself one question: who's coaching you???”

- Ask a second question. who are you coaching???"

- At FX Church, we’re not trying to build a church where one pastor disciples everybody >> we’re building a church where everybody helps somebody follow Jesus.

- Everybody has a NEXT STEP. Everybody needs a coach. Everybody can coach somebody. So…who’s coaching you?
