Missed Last Week?
No worries, here are the notes for you to review: Week 5: 40 Days in the Word Sermon Title: Obey the Word
https://bible.com/events/49653028Foundation Scriptures:
Main Theme:
God’s Word is not a season, it’s a lifestyle.
God’s Word is not a season, it’s a lifestyle.
Introduction:
The Campaign Is Ending, but the Lifestyle Is Beginning.
Today, we have reached the final week of our 40 Days in the Word campaign. For the past 40 days, we have intentionally read the Word, studied the Word, meditated on the Word, spoken the Word, and applied the Word. Some have developed new spiritual habits. Some have heard God speak with greater clarity. Some have received correction, encouragement, healing, or direction. Others have rediscovered a hunger for Scripture that had grown weak. But there is a danger whenever we reach the end of a campaign: we can begin treating the Word like something we have completed. We might say: “I finished my reading plan.” “I completed my journal.” “I attended the connect group.” “I made it through the 40 days.” But we did not spend 40 days in the Word simply to finish a program. We spent 40 days in the Word to establish a pattern.

1. The Word Produces Stability and Fruit.
a. The Word plants us.
b. The Word produces fruit.
2. A Word-Rooted Life Withstands Storms.
House - family, household
a. Hearing is not enough.
a. Hearing is not enough.
3. The Word Transforms Generations.
a. You are creating a spiritual inheritance.
The Final Weekly Challenge:
The final challenge is not designed to conclude our journey. It is designed to continue it.
1. Commit to a daily Bible-reading plan.
Choose a realistic plan that you can sustain. Do not become so ambitious that you read ten chapters for three days and then stop for three months. Consistency is more important than speed.
Recommendations:
* Read one chapter each morning.
* Continue using the SOAP method.
* Read through the New Testament.
* Follow a one-year Bible plan.
* Study one book of the Bible at a time.
* Read a Psalm and a chapter of Proverbs daily.
Choose a regular time and place. Connect your Bible reading to something already in your routine. Try before morning coffee, before checking your phone, during lunch or before going to bed. If you miss a day, do not allow condemnation to make you quit. Begin again the next day. This is a relationship, not a performance competition.
2. Share one testimony from the 40-day journey.
Revelation 12:11 reminds us of the power of testimony. Tell someone:
* What God showed you
* Which Scripture came alive
* What habit changed
* What prayer was answered
* What decision you made
* How your faith became stronger
Your testimony may become the encouragement someone else needs to begin their own journey in the Word.
3. Make a personal covenant to remain devoted to God’s Word.
A covenant is stronger than a temporary intention. Write a personal statement such as:“By the grace of God and with the help of the Holy Spirit, I commit to making God’s Word a daily priority. I will read it, meditate on it, believe it, speak it and practice it. I will allow the Word to guide my decisions, shape my character, strengthen my faith and influence my family.” Place it somewhere you will see it. Sign it. Date it. Let this be a defining moment when you declare: “I am not going back to spiritual inconsistency. I will stay rooted in God’s Word.”
