How does a spirit-transformed church serve God in a broken world?

Jeremiah 7:1–7 (NLT)The Lord gave another message to Jeremiah. He said, 2 “Go to the entrance of the Lord’s Temple, and give this message to the people: ‘O Judah, listen to this message from the Lord! Listen to it, all of you who worship here! 3 This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says: “ ‘Even now, if you quit your evil ways, I will let you stay in your own land. 4 But don’t be fooled by those who promise you safety simply because the Lord’s Temple is here. They chant, “The Lord’s Temple is here! The Lord’s Temple is here!” 5 But I will be merciful only if you stop your evil thoughts and deeds and start treating each other with justice; 6 only if you stop exploiting foreigners, orphans, and widows; only if you stop your murdering; and only if you stop harming yourselves by worshiping idols. 7 Then I will let you stay in this land that I gave to your ancestors to keep forever.

What is Godly justice?

מִשְׁפָּט miš·pāṭ — Justice: The quality of being free from favoritism, self-interest, bias, or deception; especially conforming to established standards or rules. Closely linked in the Old Testament to the idea of righteousness.

Matthew 9:13 (NLT) Then he added, “Now go and learn the meaning of this Scripture: ‘I want you to show mercy, not offer sacrifices.’ For I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.”

2 Corinthians 9:8–9 (NLT) And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. 9 As the Scriptures say, “They share freely and give generously to the poor. Their good deeds will be remembered forever.”

BABY DEDICATION

Come as we joyfully celebrate the dedication of our newest little ones to the Lord. This is a special moment where parents stand before God, their family, and their church community to commit to raising their child in a way that honors Him. We give thanks for the precious gift of life and pray that each child will grow to know, love, and serve God throughout their life. "Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it." – Proverbs 22:6.
