What is something you always want to make sure you have with you before heading out on a long trip?
When you think about your faith journey, what has helped you feel closer to God and kept you moving forward?
Paul talks about being “empowered with inner strength,” trusting Christ, and having our “roots” grow down into God’s love. Which of those stands out to you most right now, and why?
We all experience difficult seasons, challenges, and circumstances that we would probably rather avoid. Looking back, describe a time when something uncomfortable or difficult ended up growing your faith or drawing you closer to God?
During the message this week Pastor Jonathan described discomfort as something God can use to drive us deeper into the Holy Spirit, Scripture, prayer, and community. When life gets difficult, which of those do you naturally lean into, and which one is harder for you to pursue?
Paul prayed that believers would experience how wide, long, high, and deep the love of Christ is. What do you think might change in the way we face difficult circumstances if we truly believed that God’s love for us was that deep and that He was with us along the way?
Closing Prayer
God, thank You for being with us throughout every part of our journey. Thank You for the moments that are easy and joyful, but also for the difficult seasons that can grow our faith and draw us closer to You. Help us trust You when the road is uncomfortable and remind us that we are never walking it alone. Give us strength through Your Spirit, guide us through Your Word, teach us to depend on You in prayer, and help us lean into the community You have given us. Above all, help us become more deeply rooted in Your love and understand more fully how wide, long, high, and deep Your love is for us. Amen.
