Sermon Text: Romans 16:17-20
Preparation Question: Are you actively guarding your mind against subtle lies, or have you lowered your guard and naively assumed you can't be deceived?
Two battle stances for standing strong in a world of lies:
1. Participate with Truth: Be watchful and ready to counter the counterfeits. (v. 17-19)
1. Participate with Truth: Be watchful and ready to counter the counterfeits. (v. 17-19)
2. Anticipate the knockout: Rest easy because Jesus, the Victor, has already won and will obliterate the opposition. (v. 20)
Response Questions:
1. What is the difference between simply knowing biblical information and personally walking in the Truth of Jesus?
2. What does it look like in practical daily life to be "innocent as to what is evil" without completely isolating ourselves from the world?
3. How does knowing that Satan’s final knockout was guaranteed at the Cross change how you face his attacks today?
4. How does remembering that Satan is on a "short leash" free you from living in spiritual anxiety or fear?
5. Where have you allowed a subtle lie or bad influence to slip past your guard, and what single step will you take this week to replace it with Christ's truth?
